The „Focused Michael Fellowships (FMF) Programme“ gives young post-graduates with a special interest in clinical epileptology or epilepsy research a possibility to study and gain experience with a German epilepsy centre or institute – and starting in July 2019 with the King's College London PET Centre also at centres in other European countries –, during a minimum stay of six weeks.
Following the template of the EFNS department–to-department programme, the fellowship comprises a grant of 1.500 € and travel support of up to 300 €, if required. To begin with, FMF are offered to fellows from European countries.
During their stay, fellows will become acquainted with well-defined procedures such as advanced EEG or imaging methods in epileptology or participate in research projects. An FMF grant should cover a minimum stay of 6 weeks. Cooperating centres have been asked to assist fellows with finding budget board and lodging.
Detailed information on the FMF programme is now available on the Foundation’s website or can be requested from the office of the MICHAEL FOUNDATION. This includes a list of the cooperating centres with their language requests and the training or the research they offer. Before an application is made to the Foundation, the centres in case must have expressed their willingness to host the fellow.
